MASTER ROSHI ALERT AT 4:59! Unfortunately, there was a problem with the tape during a portion of the demonstration resulting in some video noise. For best results with sound, use a high quality stereo system, a high quality computer speaker setup, or a high quality pair of stereo headphones or earbuds. This is the first version of the 1983 demonstration of Sony Beta hi-fi, which has slightly di...

This is recreation of the Mickey Mouse 50th Anniversary bumper preceding the Buena Vista logo with fanfare (well-known for its use with the Walt Disney Home Entertainment ident) by Buddy Baker. I Found My Way - Sally Dworsky - "The Wizard" Soundtrack
Переглядів 22 тис.8 років тому
This music was sourced from a LaserDisc copy of "The Wizard," recorded via Audacity direct from the digital audio track via S/PDIF through an EIAJ optical connection between my Apple MacBook Pro and my Pioneer CLD-3070 LaserDisc Player. It has also been edited to remove Haley's laugh near the beginning of the song, which I was inspired to do after hearing FOX - KC's upload of the same song. Bec...

The pitchman is Doctor Kibner from Invasion of the Body Snatchers(1978). The Talosians have decided to "swat us". What does Spock want on a hot dog?
He also sung about Bilbo Baggins.
Is this taken on Laserdisc or VHS?
All but the first were sourced from LaserDisc. The first was sourced from a CED videodisc.

Such primitive technology....lol.
I've seen them when watching Odyssey. Not on LaserDisc but on UA-cam. For those who like to see early CGI, you can find it by typing in UA-cam's search: Odyssey - Ron Hays Music Image
This is the very first Laserdisc player ... for optical laser discs
That would be the Pioneer/DiscoVision PR-7820. But, that's a commercial/industrial player. The player advertised here, the Magnavox VH-8000, was the first consumer grade player ... but it was a piece of junk.
Ron and Russell are proud.....well done
What year was this filmed?
1980.

The anthem about my life in the gigantic city CDMX in that past century
Still better than RCA’s Selectavision CED. Maybe if Spock was hired by them to market it, sales might have been better.

The World is a much better place thanks to the innovations from Magnetbox, Sorny and Panaphonics.

I like the original voice over better.
You can't satisfy everybody.
This song used to play at San Diego nightclubs Mr. Dillon's and WCPC around 1981. I was 18 yrs old then, loved it!

The logo ever.
It gets progressively funnier. Holy shit
Taken from Prophecy 1980 VHS
Dallas and Thundercats were the best 2 shows to have this logo.
Key Video uses a library music composition. It is called "Upsweep" by Geoff Levin and Dwight Mikkelsen from the Emil Ascher, Inc. album, "Olympic Odyssey "(1983). Later reissued on the Parry Music album, "Olympia" in 1989. Also, the animation of this logo was entirely done on a Quantel Mirage digital effects machine.
Never seen this before. The first movie I ever watched on LaserVision (later rebranded LaserDisc) was Star Trek The Motion Picture, and oh boy at the time it looked incredibly good on a CRT.
it doesn't sound all that far removed from how CD, Blu-Ray and DVD players work-basically digital media decoded by a low power laser.
Except standard LaserVision sound is analogue FM, usually (though not always) with CX noise reduction. It can still sound quite good, especially on a player where FM sound was taken seriously enough. Digital stereo sound for LaserDisc didn't come about until around 1984. A lot of digital sound players for NTSC will play analogue sound, though the quality may not be as good as that of the old top loading gas tube laser players. PAL, on the other hand, a lot of newer players with digital sound omitted analogue sound support to cut costs. Also, PAL LaserDiscs could only have either analog or digital sound, not both at the same time like that of NTSC discs.
The last example was not a glitch. They were just playing the rare Beethoven classic known as "T-T-T-T-T-T". He lost his mind at that point.
